Local Advancements & Opportunities in Clevleand

Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP)
With more than 11,000 members, the GCP is one of the largest metropolitan chambers of commerce in the nation. We're focused on driving the economic vitality of our region through building a strong and thriving climate for the broad business community, including small businesses, middle-market companies and large

Opportunity Zones
Opportunity Zones are a new community development program established in the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act of 2017 to encourage long-term investments in low-income urban and rural communities nationwide. The goal of the Opportunity Zone program is to allow investors to defer capital gains from the sale or exchange of property by investing the proceeds in an Opportunity Fund. The fund would then invest these assets in businesses within an Opportunity Zone.

Opportunity Corridor
The Opportunity Corridor is a new $330 million boulevard currently under construction on Cleveland’s east side that is designed to enhance the area’s transportation network & spur broader economic benefits for the neighborhoods, city, and region. When completed in early 2022, the Corridor will connect from E. 105th Street in University Circle to I-490 at E. 55th Street and will serve as a catalyst for job creation and community investment by providing the foundation for the redevelopment of several hundred acres of underutilized land.

Education and Workforce Development
The GCP is committed to working with its partners in the public & private sectors to ensure that Northeast Ohio creates, attracts and retains a 21st century workforce. A renewed and reinvigorated public-private partnership is helping to support the development of educational systems to prepare our students for in-demand jobs in our region.
